Take time to stop

Do you ever just stop and take time to really look around your surroundings? To stand and breathe and just look. Its amazing what you can see and there is plenty to take joy in. I love frosty morning, the patterns it makes on windows are completely unique and never the same twice. The way it covers leaves making them look fluffy and sparkling. Have you ever looked closely at a frozen cobweb? They are just stunning especially when the sun catches them making them twinkle. The snow changes things again, how it settles along a branch or on rooftops and everything seems so much quieter and the uniqueness of a snowflake is awe inspiring. Even on a rainy day you can find beauty, raindrops on a leaf or running down the windows or landing in a puddle it has already made sending little circular ripples outwards, or in spring or summer when everything smells so fresh after a rainfall. I like stopping to look upwards if I'm in a town or city because there is often some stunning architecture or patterns on buildings, or windows that may be different, things you would so easily miss if you were in a rush or looking at your phone.

Its just good to sometimes stop and take five minuets out of your busy day to take a breath, relax and be grateful for the world around you, have a think about what it took for it to be the way it is.

Look at a a tree, think how it has grown from a seed, wonder how the seed got there, what it has seen in the years it has been growing, what changes have happened around it. This can help make you become more present in the here and now and can stop you overthinking, or worrying about the past or the future, help get rid of negative thoughts. Give it a go in your surrounding area, see what you can see or hear that you might never of noticed before, once you start it might become a lovely daily habit that makes you smile.

Much Love Jo xx
