Ideas for self care and self love.

These are just some ideas for taking time for yourself , its not selfish its self love. If you don't think you have time, take an honest look at the amount of time you spend watching TV or scrolling through social media, it will be more than you realise, I'm sure you can use some of that time to do something off the list below to help lift you up

  • Drink a cup of calming herbal tea or any cuppa of choice

  • Make a list of things that you would like to avoid in your life, cutting out things that no longer serve you or make you happy

  • Organise a catch up with friends or family, have dinner, a coffee or a walk having a laugh, a natter or a good old moan always lifts your spirits.

  • Create a vision board of how you would like your life to be. Have a look online for ideas or grab a copy of Roxie Nafousi's book "Manifest 7 Steps To Living Your Best Life" to get inspired

  • Read a book, go and tuck yourself into a quiet corner somewhere with a good book, a cuppa or tipple of choice and get lost in a good story, or an inspirational read.

  • Go for a long walk. Im a huge fan of getting into the outdoors no matter where you live head out and look around. When you take the time to actually look its amazing what you see that can so easily be missed when you are busy being busy.

  • Create a dedicated playlist for relaxing, or an up lifting playlist for singing or dancing to, its amazing what a crazy dance around the kitchen or bedroom to a song you haven't heard for ages can do to lift your mood.

  • if you have created a playlist to relax to then run a bath, put in your favourite bubbles, or epsom salts and essential oils light some candles, lock the door and stick a note on the outside saying do not disturb and just enjoy.

  • Plan and go on a short trip. Just book a hotel somewhere doesn't have to be far away and head off for the night either by yourself or with a friend or partner.  I have done this a few times now, just by myself or with my puppy. It wasn't easy at first and it did take therapy to get me to have the confidence to do it, and yes I do still feel a bit guilty but I feel I need to do it for me and I come back in a better frame of mind so its a win all round  and its good to push yourself out of your comfort zone.

  • Plan a fun night out or in with friends. I love doing this we always end up with some special photos and memories and usually a face that aches from laughing, or other aches from trying some craze that someone has seen on social media.

  • Meditate. There are loads of Apps or videos with guided meditations it takes practice but it has helped me loads.

  • EFT Tapping. Again there are loads of videos for guided tapping on YouTube or on Apps, it really works.

  • Buy a scented candle. I'm currently using some that are made locally and the business is called Bous they smell absolutely amazing even while burning. I also have some of her reed diffusers. Its surprising how a scent can help you relax.

  • Watch a sunrise, get up early head somewhere where you will see the sun rise clearly then sit and enjoy.

  • Look at the stars.
